Alternate Part Qualification

To reduce costs, and increase throughput it is essential that alternate/replacement components be qualified before being fitted to large batches during manufacturing.

There are dozens of instances where an alternate component is required for a product that is already in mass production. Some instances include: product cost downs, End Of Life (EOL) components, and lead (Pb) free component conversion. Working together we will ensure that the replacement parts are as reliable as the replaced.

In addition to alternate parts, there are instances where a component manufacturer will update the revision of a component when a die-shrink version is available, or other minor component alterations are made. It is essential that these changes be verified by both the manufacturer of the component and by the component user.

In as little as half a day the new component can be qualified. The time taken depends upon the size and complexity of the product.
